How Ownchain Node Key NFTs Function

The Enhanced Vigilance Protocol v2 encompasses a variety of roles, including the OWNCHAIN network, a supervisory chain (akin to Arbitrum One), a designated Challenger, OWNCHAIN Node Key holders, and a Referee smart contract. Challengers generate a BLS key-pair, register the public key with the Referee, and endorse claims made by validators in the OWNCHAIN rollup protocol. These endorsements are then authenticated by the Referee and logged as challenges linked to specific claims.

OWNCHAIN Node Key holders can register their interest with the Referee by acquiring a Node Key NFT, qualifying them to submit claims related to a particular assertion. They obtain the state root of the accurate assertion that follows the one posted, and under specific conditions, they present a claim to the Referee regarding the assertion. If a subsequent assertion is acknowledged and verified, and the Node Key holder's claim is accurate, they initiate a redeem transaction with the Referee. The Referee assesses various criteria before disbursing a reward to the Node Key holder.

This protocol guarantees that each assertion accurately processes the inbox messages present at the time of its predecessor's creation. Thus, the moment an assertion is made, the state root for its rightful successor is immediately established and can be computed by any participant. This encourages every Node Key holder to identify and determine the accurate next state root. The rewards for a Node Key holder are dependent on their state license ID, the identified successor state root, and a challenge value, which is revealed only after the successor state root has been conclusively determined.
